To Be a Christian: An Anglican Catechism
What does it mean to be an Anglican? What do we believe and why do we practice our faith as we do? The catechism of the Anglican Church in North America answers these and many other questions regarding the Anglican faith and practice. This will be the text for our new 9 a.m. Sunday morning adult forum beginning Nov. 3.
Come with an open heart, ready to join the discussion! The questions and answers presented will provide a springboard for conversations that will challenge your faith and inspire a deeper devotion to Christ's one, holy, catholic and apostolic church. Want to get a head start? The complete text is available for purchase or as a free .pdf download from the ACNA website.
While the adults discuss the catechism, our children will explore the faith using Alive in Christ, a curriculum from Our Sunday Visitor. Kids learn to have a personal relationship with Christ while exploring holy scripture, the sacraments, and the traditions of the church. Interested in helping with the kids? Our new rector has arrived!
St. Andrew's Church is pleased to welcome our new rector, Donald Sackett, M.Div., to Breckenridge. He and his family arrived mid-September and are settling in nicely. Fr. Don has already organized his office and started his ministry to our community. He will be posting office hours and adding Bible studies and weekday services to the weekly schedule shortly. He and the vestry are making plans for the coming year focusing on revitalizing the church building and community ministries.
Do you have ideas? Please reach out to Fr. Don or other members of the vestryto share your thoughts on how St. Andrew's might grow and change in the coming year.
